About Prodigal Prodigal is the connected AI platform leading financial institutions use to run their operations. We work with banks, lenders, credit unions, and other financial companies that lend money to people and manage those relationships over time. These institutions make millions of high-stakes decisions every day. Who should they reach? When should they reach them? What should they say or offer? When should a case move to a human? How should that change based on the borrower, the account, previous interactions, and the regulations involved? Getting those decisions right requires a deep understanding of the people, processes, rules, and edge cases behind them. Prodigal has spent the last eight years building that understanding. More than a billion interactions between financial institutions and their customers have shaped the intelligence, guardrails, and AI agents we now run in production across North America. Today, our AI agents analyze conversations, capture context, guide human agents, decide the next action, conduct customer conversations, orchestrate outreach, and help people complete payments and resolutions. They are connected, so what is learned in one interaction can inform what happens next. We are expanding this swarm of AI agents across more of the work financial institutions do: originations, document processing, back-office workflows, servicing, and other critical operations where money, identity, people, and regulation intersect. We are backed by Y Combinator, Accel, and Menlo Ventures, and work with 100+ financial institutions across North America. Listen directly from our CTO, Cofounder - Sangram Raje About The Team: You’ll join Prodigal’s Strategy & Operations team, the consulting and services arm of the company. We partner with lenders (Banks, NBFCs & BNPLs etc.) and debt collection agencies to transform how they engage consumers using data-driven insights and AI-powered workflows. After years of building an innovative POS platform for restaurateurs, Toast is expanding into new food and beverage concepts: convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops. The Toast Retail platform is already winning with independent operators. Now we are moving upmarket, and this is one of the key sales roles that proves the commercial motion as we pursue increasingly complex retail accounts. Role Overview As a founding Mid Market Account Executive for Toast Retail, you will source and close multi-location retail deals with a focus on grocery, liquor, and convenience operators. These are complex accounts with real buying committees, layered compliance requirements, deep inventory and SKU demands, and incumbent systems that took years to entrench. Winning them requires a sales motion that does not fully exist at Toast Retail yet. You will help build it, one deal at a time. This is not a role for someone who wants to inherit a finished playbook. Some proof points exist from our SMB business, leadership is investing, and there is a set of open questions that closers in the field have to go answer. What does discovery look like when the buyer is a VP of Operations and not an owner? Which SMB motions translate upmarket and which have to be rebuilt? What do we need from Product to be credible in a 40 store grocery chain? You will form hypotheses, test them in live deals, and feed what works back so the next AEs can run it. You will report to the Manager, Mid Market Sales, Toast Retail. This is a remote opportunity with travel expectations of 30% or more, including store walks and on site visits. A day in the life (Responsibilities) Pipeline and prospecting: Build a qualified pipeline of multi-location grocery, liquor, and convenience operators through category research, cold calling, networking, and close partnership with our SMB Retail teams to identify accounts ready to move upmarket. Retail centric discovery: Run disciplined discovery against buying committees

Toast is building the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt, take control, and get back to what they do best: running the businesses they love. We’ve grown into a leading hospitality software company in the U.S., and are now entering our next phase of growth—one defined by scale, complexity, and a new class of enterprise customers. Every restaurant is unique, and a restaurant’s menu expresses its individual brand and product offerings. Inside a Toast restaurant, the definition of the menu becomes the common language between guests, servers, and the kitchen. In our digital ordering products, a great menu serves as both a billboard and a roadmap to an excellent dining experience. It is the central hub for restaurant configuration– it determines what guests can order, how the dishes are presented and priced in different contexts, where they are routed for fulfillment and how they are coursed, how they are prepared, whether the ingredients are still available, and how they are classified for reporting. A menu is always evolving: kitchens create new dishes, managers experiment with pricing and presentation, and staff optimize the menu for restaurant operations. We create products to satisfy the vast breadth of our restaurants, from single-location coffee shops to complex enterprise brands with thousands of locations. We offer an extremely powerful and configurable menu platform, and our team exists to ensure that this flexibility can be managed effectively at any scale. This includes feature-rich menu data models, APIs for both first and third party integrations (eg: DoorDash and other ordering partners), and the user experiences for configuring menus that meet a vast variety of needs, from complex customer segments (eg: Pizza shops) to our evolving Retail platform. We are looking for a visionary engineer who is motivated by these challenges and eager to transform our menus architecture to meet the dynamic needs of our customers and our rapidly gro
