About the Team The Support team is central to ensuring that our customers' experience with our products is nothing short of exceptional. We resolve complex issues, provide technical guidance, and support customers in maximizing value and adoption from deploying our products. We work closely with Sales, Technical Success, Product, Engineering and others to deliver the best possible experience to our customers at scale. OpenAI's customers represent a range of diverse backgrounds and maturity, from early-stage startups to established global enterprises. Given OpenAI’s breakneck shipping cadence and growth – and the expectation that it will only accelerate – our ability to architect automation systems and agentic workflows for scale is central to our ability to maintain exceptional support quality in the face of AGI. About the Role As a Support Vendor Manager, you will own the health, performance, and long-term scalability of multiple support partner and vendor relationships. This is a vendor leadership role first and foremost: you will drive commercial and operational accountability (SLAs, QBRs, escalation paths, remediation plans), while also building the operating model that enables support to scale without linear headcount growth. You’ll collaborate closely with User Operations teams (e.g., Trust & Safety, Fraud & Risk), Systems/Tooling, Data partners, and Product/PM stakeholders as we launch new workflows and launch and scale new programs. This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees. 1-2 weeks of travel per quarter may be required. You’ll be responsible for: End-to-end vendor leadership: Own day-to-day oversight, relationship health, and executive-level accountability for multiple support vendors/BPOs. About the Team Critical Harm Operations sits within User Safety & Risk Operations and builds enforcement systems for Frontier Risk and Material Harm that are accurate, fast, defensible, and built to scale. We turn policy intent into operational readiness, review standards, quality systems, escalation paths, automation guardrails, and durable cross-functional operating models. About the Role We are looking for an exceptional Program Manager to help build durable operating systems and run some of OpenAI’s most complex safety operations. Incident Commander | SaaS Production Operations Permanent night shift • Individual Contributor • Full onsite – BGC, Taguig This is not an escalation coordinator role. We need someone who can make real-time production recovery decisions when systems fail and customers are already affected. When an incident happens, your job is not: Follow procedure → identify resolver → escalate → wait → send updates. Your job is: Understand what is actually affected → determine the fastest safe recovery path → make the call → direct the teams involved → keep the customer operational → stay on it until production is restored. What this actually looks like EviSmart is a live SaaS platform with multiple applications, services, dependencies and operational workflows. When something breaks, the answer will not always be written in a runbook. You need to be able to determine: What is actually failing? What is the customer impact? Which systems or dependencies are involved? Is the normal recovery path working? How long should recovery reasonably take? Can Production/Application Support restore it? Do we actually need Engineering? Is there a workaround or manual process that keeps the customer operational? At what point do we stop waiting and change the recovery strategy? Different failures have different recovery paths. During the incident, you own the clock and the decision. If the normal recovery route isn't working, we expect you to recognize that quickly and change course rather than continue following a process that is no longer protecting the customer. That can mean restoring the application, rolling something back, implementing a safe workaround, directing Support or Engineering, or switching operations to a manual process while the underlying issue is being resolved. You stay accountable until production is operational again. What we mean by Incident Commander You command both the people and the recovery strategy. Engineering may perform the permanent technical
